Guisantes con Jamón – Step-by-step Instructions

1. Peel and finely chop one medium-sized onion and three to four cloves of garlic. The quantity of onion and garlic depends on your flavor preference, so feel free to adjust accordingly.

2. Dice the serrano ham into small cubes. Tip: Buy one thick slice of good serrano ham and cut it yourself.

3. Heat extra virgin olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add in the chopped onions and garlic and fry them for about ten to 15 minutes. Stir the mixture every once in a while.

4. Add the cubed ham to the pan and gently fry for a few minutes.

5. Add in the two tins of peas together with their canning water. Next, pour in a glass of dry white wine. 

6. Bring the mixture to a boil. Once it boils, reduce the heat and bring to a simmer for about 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 glass of dry white wine
